Overview
SOSi monitors, analyzes and gauges perceptions of U.S. diplomatic and military engagements as well as reporting related to key strategic themes and objectives. Media sources are selected using very specific content criteria, including relevance to the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), information on countries listed as state sponsors of terror, and pro- and anti- U.S. sentiment. Media content is not translated by analysts, but rather is read or listened to in its native language and analyzed for content and applicability.
Analysts score articles for trending data using a number of metrics, including the degree to which elements further GWOT objectives. These metrics help facilitate analysis, enabling SOSi to provide timely, on-target and actionable information to military planners and operators.
