LOCKHEED MARTIN PARTNERS WITH SOS INTERNATIONAL ON JOINT DEA / DOD PROGRAM TO ASSIST AFGHAN COUNTER NARCOTICS POLICE

RESTON, VA - Lockheed Martin awarded a competitive subcontract to SOS International (SOSi) to provide advisory and technical support to the Counter Narcotics Police of Afghanistan (CNPA). This effort is part of an overarching joint project between the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Department of Defense to help the CNPA establish an electronic surveillance program to target major terrorist and drug trafficking networks throughout Afghanistan. SOSi will also assist the DEA with extradition and counter-drug cases in the U.S.
SOSi already has a large presence in Afghanistan, possesses extensive experience supporting the Federal law enforcement community and has a long-standing relationship with the DEA, in particular. Mr. Michael Vigil, SOSi's Senior Vice President for Law Enforcement and Security Programs, is a 30-year veteran of the DEA, who served as the agency's Chief of International Operations. In recent years, the company has been awarded contracts valued at up to $100 million by the DEA, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other Federal agencies involved in U.S. Government counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics efforts. SOSi was also recently awarded a contract in partnership with Raytheon Technical Services Company to support the Defense Department's counter-narcoterrorism training and operational initiatives throughout the world.
