SOS INTERNATIONAL SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT SPEAKS AT BROOKINGS INSTITUTION
October 1, 2007

RESTON, VA - Michael S. Vigil, SOSi's Senior Vice President, Law Enforcement and Security Services, recently gave a talk at the Brookings Institution. He has participated in several discussions there in the past and was asked to comment on illicit drug trafficking in the current global environment, particularly in Latin America. His speech centered on issues that complicate drug production, transportation and distribution, and included a discussion of the nexus between drug trafficking and subversive organizations.

The Brookings Institution is a non-profit public policy organization based in Washington, DC. It is the nation's oldest think tank and is considered one of the most prominent and influential policy institutes in the U.S. for its social science research and education.

Mr. Vigil is frequently asked to interview on major domestic and international media networks, is often quoted in major newspapers and has been touted as one of the "foremost international drug trafficking experts." His most recent appearance at the Brookings Institution and other speaking opportunities can be attributed to his experience as a 30-year veteran of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), where he served as the agency's former Chief of International Operations and as a Special Agent in Charge of several field divisions. During his tenure there, he was responsible for the development and execution of a myriad of multi-national initiatives and received numerous accolades for his service.
