SOS INTERNATIONAL AND LOCKHEED MARTIN TEAM UP TO SUPPORT UNITED STATES STRATEGIC COMMAND
July 15, 2007
RESTON, VA - SOS International, Ltd. (SOSi) has been awarded a subcontract by Lockheed Martin under a contract with the United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM).
Lockheed Martin and SOSi have partnered to provide subject matter expertise to assist STRATCOM with applying behavioral and "human factors" analysis to strategic plans. STRATCOM is the executive agent in charge of managing all strategic communications programs for the Department of Defense.
Human factors analysis, also known as behavioral influence analysis, has received increased attention within the Defense Department in recent years. Defense strategists, planners and operators are now heavily relying on insight into what motivates or could potentially trigger particular actions by foreign leaders, governments and terrorist organizations in order to determine which strategies and policies are appropriate for specific scenarios. Human Factors refer to psychological, cultural, behavioral and other personal attributes that influence decision-making.
Lockheed Martin and SOSi have entered this agreement to fuse SOSi's experience in media and cultural analysis and military intelligence, counterintelligence and psychological operations with Lockheed Martin's expertise in Command and Control, and targeting and weaponeering.
SOS International, Ltd. (SOSi) is a privately owned defense services firm with more than 1,200 employees worldwide. Now in its third decade of operation, SOSi provides a wide range of analytical, training, and consulting services to the U.S. government and private sector firms in the defense and aerospace industry. It specializes in counter-terrorism and counterdrug operations, international stabilization and capacity building, public affairs and strategic communications.
