SOS INTERNATIONAL TO ASSIST IN PROSTHETICS PRODUCTION IN IRAQ
July 10, 2007

RESTON, VA - SOS International (SOSi) has been awarded a follow-on contract that enhances a prosthetic manufacturing program already under way in Iraq. The original contract, awarded to SOSi in July 2006, had SOSi supporting the Iraqi Veterans Agency Amputee Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Clinic in the production of prosthetic limbs. This program has already treated more than 750 patients across Iraq. The new contract, awarded through MNF-I, is a response to the government's decision to expand that program to provide state-of-the-art prosthetic production capabilities into other areas in Iraq.

Under the contract, SOSi will train teams of Iraqis in the processes and tools associated with this complex production work. These teams will continue to train others and prosthetic clinics will be opened across the country for the 30,000+ Iraqis who need them.

"This is wonderful for the Iraqi people," says project manager Marvin Schroeder. "It's the kind of project that makes a real difference in the everyday lives of Iraqis."
