SOS INTERNATIONAL HIRES FORMER LOCKHEED MARTIN EXEC AS SENIOR VP
January 3, 2005
RESTON, VA - SOSi International (SOSi) announced today that it hired Mr. William R. Arnold, a former senior executive manager at Lockheed Martin and retired US Air Force Officer, as its Senior Vice President, Director of Defense and Intelligence Programs. Mr. Arnold served in the US Air Force for 27 years that has spent a total of 11 years in the corporate sector. Prior to joining SOSi, he worked as a Senior Program Manager in Lockheed Martin's Intelligence and Counterintelligence Programs Division, where he managed a business unit with gross revenues of more than $50 million.
While in the Air Force, Mr. Arnold served as the Air Force Chief of the Intelligence Plans Division at the Directorate of Intelligence, US European Command (USEUCOM) in Stuttgart, Germany. He also served as a Special Agent in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) for 23 years and as overall AFOSI Commander in Korea for three years.
His career in the private sector began at Betac Corporation, a medium sized Defense services firm that specialized in providing a wide range of systems integration, counterintelligence, and counterterrorism solutions to the Intelligence Community. Betac Corporation was subsequently purchased by Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., and merged with another medium sized IT Services contractor called ASEC, Inc. to form ACS Defense, Inc. ACS Defense, Inc. grew to be a $600 million company and in 2004 was acquired by Lockheed Martin.
SOSi hired Mr. Arnold to grow and manage its business base within the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and Intelligence Community. "These are critical sectors in our industry," said Julian M. Setian, SOSi Chief Operating Officer. "With the level of experience that Mr. Arnold brings to our organization, the increased emphasis by the Federal Government on outsourcing critical intelligence infrastructure support to the private sector, and the vast growth we have seen in our military's operations particularly in the international arena, we have no doubt that SOSi will continue to play a crucial role in this market." Indeed, as a relatively small but highly reputable company competing in a largely large-business dominated industry, SOSi is widely viewed as both a value-add to its large business partners and, at the same time, a viable alternative to them when it is the flexibility and agility of a small to medium-sized business that the end-user agencies seek.
SOS International Ltd, commonly referred to as SOSi, is a privately held consulting firm that provides research, analysis and operational support services to the U.S. Government and large private companies in the Defense & Aerospace industries. The company is headquartered in New York City and employs more than 1,000 full-time personnel worldwide.
